Promote supports usernames as an alternative to email addresses, offering more flexibility for users to log in with identifiers such as employee numbers or other custom IDs. This option can help organizations that prefer not to rely on email for user identification.
How Usernames Work
-
Assigning Usernames: When creating a new user, you can assign a unique username to each user. If no username is specified, Promote will automatically generate a random unique identifier.
- Username Login: Once assigned, users can log in using their username instead of their email address.
Configuration Options
-
User Control: Promote can be configured to allow users to change their own usernames if needed. This setting can be adjusted to suit your organization’s needs.
- Custom Terminology: If "username" doesn’t align with your organization’s preferred terminology, Promote can adjust the display term. For example, usernames can be referred to as “employee numbers” or another identifier of your choice.
