E-learning refers to the use of technology to facilitate learning anytime and anywhere.
Promote is fully SCORM compliant so all of your current e-learning content can be used in Promote as long as it supports SCORM, and most e-learning does. E-learning is an optional product add-on so if you want to use this for your site don't hesitate to get in touch with your sales representative.

Introduction
You create the E-learning course outside of Promote, in an E-learning Authoring Tool. If you already have existing content and want to use it in your Promote program, just export it as a SCORM zip package and upload it to Promote. These are the overall steps to get your E-learnings ready for your Promote learners:
- Create your content in an E-learning Authoring Tool
- Export your E-Learning course as a SCORM zip package
- Upload to Promote
- Add the E-learning as a task in your program to track your learners’ completion status
What is an E-learning?
An E-Learning is learning content delivered as an electronic lesson or a quiz using interactivity, media and text. With an E-learning authoring tool, you can create your own interactive content, like voiceover presentations with paths, quizzes etc. and use them as part of your Learning Journey in Promote.
There are many E-learning authoring tools out there with a lot of options for creating content, they are generally easy to use with ready-to-use templates. If they support SCORM, and most authoring tools do, you can upload the E-learnings to Promote and use them in your programs. You can add them as either a task to track your learners' completion status or add them as a resource to your assignments. Read more about this in the section E-learnings in Promote below.
What is SCORM?
SCORM is an acronym for Sharable Content Object Reference Material. Exporting your content as a SCORM zip package allows you to use it in Promote. SCORM compliance also allows you to track your learners’ progress - the information you can see on Promote includes whether they passed or failed an e-learning course. If you’re creating a course in an authoring tool, exporting it as a SCORM zip package will enable you to track the learners' completion status in your Promote program.
Promote is supporting SCORM 1.2 and 2004.
E-learnings in Promote
In short, this is the process of getting your e-learning content into Promote:
- Create your content in an E-learning Authoring Tool
- Export your E-Learning as a SCORM zip package
- Upload the zip package to Promote
- Connect it to a task in your program to track your learners’ completion status, or add it as a resource.
In Promote you can add your E-learning course as either a task or a resource depending on what you want to achieve.
-
- If you choose a task with completion type 'e-learning', the e-learning also becomes mandatory for the learner. Once the learner passes the e-learning, the task will be marked as complete in Promote.
Please note that Promote reports passed/not passed in the e-learnings, and do not keep track of scores.
- If you are adding the e-learning as a resource the e-learning becomes a way to help the learner gain more knowledge about the topic, but it will not be mandatory to complete in order to mark the task as complete.
