Reporting completions to an LMS

Introduction

When you have an integration to an LMS enabled you will get an extra tab, called Integrations, in the program admin view. The view in the Integrations tab has the same structure as the builder and reflects the existing program.

In the Integrations tab, you as an admin can decide what a learner needs to complete in your Promote program for the completion to be reported to your LMS. When you have decided what item should report the completion to the LMS, you link this item to a Learning object from your LMS.

What items can you link in your Promote program?

You can link a Learning Object to one of the following items to report completions from a Promote Program to your LMS:

1. Program
   When you link a Learning Object from your LMS on the program level, the learners need to complete the entire program (i.e. all Tasks in the program) for the completion to be reported to the LMS.
2. Block/Event
   When you link a Learning Object from your LMS to a Block/Event, the learners need to complete the entire Block/Event (i.e. all Tasks in the Block/Event) for the completion to be reported to the LMS.
3. Assignment/Session
   When you link a Learning Object from your LMS to an Assignment/Session, the learners need to complete all tasks connected to the Assignment/Session for the completion to be reported to the LMS.
4. Task
   When you link a Learning Object from your LMS to a Task, the learners need to complete this one Task for the completion to be reported to the LMS.

Please note! A Learning Object from your LMS should only be linked to an item in a Promote program once.

How to link a Promote program to your LMS

1. Enter the Integrations tab in the program admin view
   
    
2. Click on the item (see description above) that determines when the completion of the program should be reported to the LMS.
   
    
3. Enter the Learning Object ID and confirm by pressing the blue confirm button
   
    
4. Done!

Call to Action for LMS Integration

When Promote is integrated to report progress to an LMS users are in most cases, required to use SSO to establish the connection between Promote and the LMS. To ensure reporting is working as intended we have added a new Call to Action message that will be displayed in programs containing tasks that will be reported to the LMS.

If a learner sees this message they can quickly address their issue by clicking the button to activate SSO which will allow Promote to report progress to the LMS. Learn more about how to problem-solve SSO issues here >
