Administrators are able to peek into any programs they have access to by using the preview feature. This feature is, for example, useful while building a program to see how the added content and program structure looks from the view of the different roles in a program.
How to Preview a Program
You find the preview feature inside of a program in admin:
When previewing a program the admin will be able to select any role, and view the content of the program the same way as a member of the program would. A bar at the top of the program will remind you that you are in preview mode, allow you to switch role and to exit preview mode and return you to the admin view.
While previewing a program you can navigate the program and look at all content but you cannot post comments, complete tasks, like comments and so on.
When previewing a program with individual start dates as admin, the start date will always be considered being today. This means any due dates in the program will be displayed based on the current date.
Previewing a program as a Learner
While previewing a program as a learner the admin will be able to see everything a normal learner can see, including comments in the feed etc. As learner in preview mode you will not be assigned to a group or team or have a peer for peer tasks, so those tasks will look empty. You will also not have any progress in the program or in any goals.
Previewing as learner can be a great tool when building your new program or when demoing a live program to someone.
Previewing a program as Coach
Previewing a program as a coach means you will have access to the same content that any coach would have, including coach specific announcements, resources or coach instructions for assignments.
Since the previewing coach will not have a learner assigned you will not be able to see any private communication in coach approves tasks and you will not be able to see the progress of any assigned learner. However - at the tab Members you can still see all learners progress.
Previewing a program as Facilitator
When previewing a program as a facilitator you will be able to view any content that is available to a real facilitator in the program. This includes progress for learners, communication in team tasks and facilitator approve tasks as well as all resources and announcements.
Previewing as Facilitator is very useful for when an admin needs to be able to check if a learner completed a task or if you just want to know how the program is progressing in general.
