The timeline type 'Individual start dates' supports individual start and end dates for Learners. The program structure is still identical for all members, meaning that all Learners will have the same tasks and same number of days to complete these tasks but they do not have to start or end the training at the same time. This type of program is perfect for self-paced training or onboarding.

Managing an individual start date program
When creating the program structure and setting dates in a program with individual start and end dates, any due dates, event dates or dates when content will become available, will be set as "Days from start". This means all Learners will have the same number of days to complete each task but the actual date will depend on when they are starting their learning journey.
Setting due dates for all tasks is always encouraged since it makes it easier to keep track and make sure Learners are keeping up with the schedule. This is even more valuable in programs with individual start dates.

Managing program members
When adding members to a program with an individual timeline you always provide the start and end date for each program member. These dates determine the time span the program member will have access to the program.
Members do not have to have access to the program for the same amount of time, for example it is common that a Facilitator will need access for a longer period of time than individual Learners, who may start and end the program at different times, since the Facilitator will want to support all Learners through the program.
Previewing programs with individual start dates
When previewing a program with individual start dates as admin, the start date will always be considered being today. This means any due dates in the program will be displayed based on the current date.

Learners in individual start programs
As a learner, you will see due dates with actual dates just like in any other program. The due dates will be based on your individual start date and you will be able to see your progress compared to other learners who have had access to the program for as long as yourself.
Coaches and Facilitators in individual start programs
As a Coach or Facilitator, your start date does not affect any dates in the program. They are only used to determine the time period you will have access to the program.
Since Coaches and Facilitators do not have due dates of their own any dates related to the program structure will be displayed as “Days from start” so they will still have an indication of when tasks are supposed to be completed or when events will take place.
Learners of course have due dates and you will be able to see if they are on track by looking at the expected progress for each Learner. The expected progress (the dark gray dot in the progress bar) is based on each Learner's individual start date so even when you have Learners who start at different times it is easy to keep track of if someone is falling behind.
