In this article, you will learn how to control the visibility and order of tasks using two features: hiding comments and conclusions until a task is completed, and locking tasks so they must be completed in a specific order.
What's in This Article
Hide others' comments and conclusions
You can choose to hide comments or conclusions from other learners in a Comment task or a Team task until a learner or team has completed the task themselves. This is useful when you want learners to submit their own input before being influenced by others.
To enable this:
-
Open the task in the Builder tab.
-
Enter the task
-
Check the box Hide other learners comments until task is completed.
Once the learner (or team) has completed the task, the tab with all comments and conclusions will be unlocked and visible.
Lock by another task
You can create locks between tasks to control the order in which tasks are completed. This means one task must be completed before another becomes available.
How to set up a task lock:
-
Go to the assignment where the tasks are located.
-
Click on the task you want to lock.
-
Open the Locks tab.
-
Select the task(s) that should act as a key to unlock this one.
🛑 You can only lock tasks within the same assignment.
This is how the locked task will appear for learners – they’ll see the padlock and a message explaining what needs to be completed first.
