This article explains the difference between the program name and the internal name in Promote, and how you can update them in your program settings.
What’s in this article
Program name
The program name is visible to all members of the program (learners, coaches, and facilitators).
- Appears inside Promote wherever the program is shown.
- Included in emails and notifications sent from the program.
Use a clear, learner-friendly name that makes the program easy to identify.
Internal name
The internal name is only visible to admins and facilitators.
- Useful for organising programs internally.
- Helps you separate different program starts (cohorts), demo programs, or templates.
Learners will never see the internal name.
How to set or update a program name

Go to Admin.

Open the Programs tab and search for your program.

In the program’s Settings, under General information, update the Program name and/or Internal name.

Click Save.
⚡ Tip: Use a consistent naming format for internal names (e.g., Cohort 2025:1, Cohort 2025:2, Cohort 2026:1, etc.) to make it easier to track multiple cohorts.
