In the Timeline, you set the Start and End date for your program. By changing the Start date and choosing the option 'Recalculate all dates' you can also update all dates to match a new program start.
Watch the video to learn more about the options you'll get when setting a start date.
How to set a Start date
You set the Program Start and End dates at the top of the Dates view, click on the green buttons to edit the dates:
When setting the program Start date in the Timeline in the program admin view, you will get the following two options:
A) Only change Start Date
This option means you will only adjust the start date. Any other dates in the program will remain as they are.
When to use this option: If you just want to bring forward or postpone the start date without any changes to other dates in the program. Or if you have copied a program, but the new cohort will go through the program during a shorter or longer period, and you want to manually change all the program dates in the Timeline view.
B) Recalculate all dates
This option means that all dates in the program will be adjusted to match the new program start date. This will affect:
- Task due dates
- Event start and end dates
- Blocks unavailable until a set date
- Assignments unavailable until a set date
When to use this option: if you have copied a program, and your copy has the same intervals for task due dates and events as the original program. This option makes the process of running the same program over and over much faster, since you only have to copy a program, set the new start date and all dates in the program will be automatically recalculated.
