On Tuesday October 9th the platform will be undergoing maintenance in order to release a new version of Promote.
Highlights in this release
New features:
- Public communication
- Notify @all
- Automatic reminders
Improvements:
- Easier to identify messages posted by facilitators
- Help for using mentions
- Improved look and feel for feed
- Improved filters
- Individual progress on group page
- New programs are now Next Gen by default
Public communication
Facilitators and learners can now post messages and start threads on the start page/feed of a program. This will allow facilitators to start discussions and remind learners. It will also allow learners to start threads about non task related topics. Posting on the feed will not generate a notification unless including a mention – if a facilitator or a learner wants to inform everyone they can now use @all.

Notify @all
Notifying all learners and facilitators in a program is now available by typing @all in the message.
Automatic reminders
Reminders are now available and are enabled by default, they can be disabled on the “Settings” tab for a program. Any task with a due date will generate a reminder if not completed in time. The reminder will be sent to the learner by email, as push notification and in the program itself on the day after the due date.

Only one reminder will be sent per task – even if the learners never completes the task they will only be reminded once, the day after the due date.
We hope you will enjoy these improvements and additions!
Downtime
At some point during the day your server will be restarted which means Promote will be offline for a few minutes. If you are using Promote at this time – wait a little while, reload the page and then you can continue to work in Promote as before.
