The New Promote Program Builder
We are currently focusing on redesigning how you create and manage training programs in Promote.
The new builder will offer:
- Easy Program Creation: Creating programs should be straightforward and efficient.
- Reusable Content: Reusing existing content from other programs should always be an option.
- Program Overview: A clear overview of the program's structure.
- One-View Access: All essential information is available in a single view.
- Drag-and-Drop Adjustments: Quickly modify your program structure with drag-and-drop.
- Modern User Interface: A fresh, intuitive interface to enhance your experience.
For a deeper dive into these features and how they work, please head into to this article on the new program builder.
What is Beta Testing?
Beta testing is a crucial phase where we invite a select group of users to explore new features before their general release. This allows us to gather valuable feedback on functionality, usability, and overall impact in a real-world setting.
What You Can Expect:
Access to New Features: You'll gain early access to features in the final stages of development. These will be available within your Promote site and fully functional, while still being fine-tuned based on feedback. They will be clearly labeled as "Beta" to distinguish them from the standard features. This ensures you're aware which functionalities are being tested and can use them alongside the tools you're already familiar with.
Provide Feedback: Your insights are invaluable to us. As a beta tester, we’ll reach out for your feedback, asking you to share your thoughts, report any issues, and suggest improvements. Your input helps us create a more intuitive interface.
What We’d Like You to Do During Testing:
The best way of testing the new features is by using them in your daily work in Promote. Next time you create a new program in Promote, try using the new builder to see how it fits into your normal workflow.
Here are some areas to explore:
- Reuse Content: Use the import feature to bring in content from other programs and see how it streamlines your process.
- Make a Copy: If you’re just testing the builder, make a copy of one of your favorite programs. This allows you to explore all features without affecting your live content.
- Explore the Overview: Check if the new overview provides the information you need and try using filters to display different data.
- Adjust with Drag-and-Drop: Rearrange objects to modify the program structure.
- Edit Content: Experiment with editing assignments, sessions, and adding tasks.
- Manage Dates: Use the date management view to set and adjust program timelines.
Things to Note During Testing:
- Do you have access to enough information in the builder overview?
- How does navigation feel for small and large programs?
- How does the drag-and-drop functionality work for you?
- Are there additional features you’d like to see in the overview?
- Is building a new program easy?
- Do you feel anything is missing in the content editor?
Can I Use the Beta Features for Live Programs?
Absolutely! The beta features are fully functional. We have already collected feedback from other testers and have additional updates and features planned. If you find anything missing, you can still use the old builder to complete those tasks until the new builder has all the functionalities you need.
The more you use the new builder, the better! As part of the beta test group, you'll automatically gain access to any new features as soon as they become available.
